The Team
Hey, my name is AFK. I am an administrator for Carl-bot help.
I have decided to create a website in my spare time to provide courses for Carl. It will be a long process to get it completed but it will be a fun experience as I am not a web developer, I’ve been learning a lot.
I have tried many different solutions over the past few months for this project, starting with trying different docs, spending weeks on each before deciding to move on as it was not for me. They weren’t bad, they were really neat and useful but not what I was looking for.
I eventually moved away from trying docs and moved to content management systems. I went with Drupal. Spent a couple months with that, it’s really powerful and I was impressed with it. Howver, it became apparent it was too advanced for me, was encountering issues I did not know how to fix.
I decided to take a break from the project for a while as it started to become a nightmare instead of being enjoyable. It was a well needed break but I am now back to working on the project, I ended up trying WordPress and its by far the easiest to use and has everything I have been looking for.
The Project
This website will eventually have courses for every aspect of Carl. Whether it is to learn how to use the features the bot offers, or to troubleshoot issues that may occur. Everything will be covered here.
My goal is to eleviate the need for us to teach users in the support server to use Carl. It is time consuming for us and the users. Instead we can redirect them here and they can learn everything they need to be self sufficient in using the bot and not rely on anyone as they can then keep coming back here and looking at any of the courses. They will then be able to learn at their convienence and not rely on someone being available to help.
